Apple has finally unveiled the much awaited successor to the Apple AirPods 3 along with the new iPhones.

Apple has announced 2 variants of AirPods 4 - standard and ANC. The ANC or Active Noise Cancellation feature which was present only in the Pro range finally comes to the regular AirPods range but users have to a pay a slight premium over the standard AirPods 4 model.

Brand New Design

Apple has unveiled the AirPods 4, touted as their best headphones to date, featuring an all-new open-ear design focused on enhancing fit and comfort. The design process utilized a vast dataset and cutting-edge tools, such as 3D photogrammetry and laser topography, to map and analyze thousands of ear shapes. With over 50 million data points collected, this innovation is designed to offer a more comfortable and universal fit for a wider range of users globally.

Improved Audio Quality

The AirPods 4 deliver a major leap in sound quality with a new acoustic architecture, low-distortion driver, and high dynamic range amplifier. They also feature Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking for an immersive experience. Powered by the H2 chip, AirPods 4 offer intelligent audio features like Voice Isolation for clearer calls and head gestures to interact with Siri. A new force sensor on the stem lets users control media or mute calls with a quick press. Optimized for gaming, they provide low latency and support 16-bit, 48kHz audio for seamless communication.

Active Noise Cancellation

AirPods 4 introduce ANC to an open-ear design for the first time. With enhanced microphones, the H2 chip, and advanced audio processing, they reduce environmental noise like engines and traffic. New features include Transparency mode for environmental awareness, Adaptive Audio that adjusts between Transparency and ANC based on surroundings, and Conversation Awareness, which lowers media volume when the user starts speaking.

Battery Life and Charging

The AirPods 4 charging case now supports USB-C, is over 10% smaller, and still offers up to 30 hours of battery life. Users  can charge it via USB-C, an Apple Watch charger, or a Qi-certified charger
