There’s been a lot of curiosity on our social media and community around the Verified badge and verification process, so we’d like to clear things up.


Truecaller’s mission is to build trust in communication and that's why we have decided to completely update the way we issue the verified badge,  starting with Android and India 🇮🇳


The new process will be easier and something you as a user can initiate from within the app. What we will be doing is verify your Truecaller name and phone number by matching it with you Aadhaar name using Digilocker.
By using Aadhhar, we’re making sure Truecaller remains a safe place where you can trust the identity of numbers with a verified badge.

 

We know this is a significant change, and you may have questions. Don’t worry—we’re here to support you every step of the way!
This is just the beginning—stay tuned for more updates as we roll out these improvements. 

 

 

FAQ

There has been a lot of good questions here in the thread and on DM's so we have summarised the most common ones in to a FAQ. 1. What is changing in the verified names badge process?

Starting September 2024, we are updating the verified names badge process in India to rely on verification using Aadhaar & DigiLocker. Users can initiate verification by matching their phone number with UPI or DigiLocker to retrieve the name as per their official record(s). This will ensure the name of a user with a verified badge can be trusted. 
 

2. Is this feature available in all regions?
No, this feature is currently available only in India. But our goal is to provide the same service globally, and we’ll be providing more updates for other regions soon. 

3. Is this feature available for all devices?

This feature is being rolled out on Android first. Support for iOS will be added later.

4. What are the requirements for verifying my name?

To get verified, you need:

- A registered phone on Truecaller that is number linked to your DigiLocker account.

- A Truecaller Premium/ Gold subscription.


5. Do I need to be a Premium user to keep my verified name badge?

Yes, only Premium users have access to this feature. If you stop being Premium, you will lose your verified name badge.


6. Will current verified name badges be affected?

Yes, all current verified names badges will be removedThe only way to get verified going forward will be through the new user initiated verification flow. 


7. What name will be displayed after verification?

The name retrieved from Aadhaar/Digilocker will be displayed. You can choose how the name is ordered (e.g. first name first or last name first).

 

8. Will Truecaller be able to give me a verified badge if i ask for it? 

Nope, the whole point of this is that you verify yourself in order to get the badge.

It's not been released to beta yet. It's still baking in the oven, but we hope to be able to start beta testing soon.

Having a UPI registered bank account is a requirement for the process to work and to be able to verify.

Hi, 

The initial release will be focused on India but we are working on a global solution as well. As soon as we have more information we will share an update.

TRUE caller is really good. There is some problem  but for before call acknowledgement it's really
