At Meta Connect 2024, CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled the Meta Quest 3S, a budget-friendly version of the Quest 3 priced at $299.99 for the 128 GB model and $399.99 for the 256 GB variant. Each headset purchase includes a complimentary copy of Batman: Arkham Shadow and a three-month subscription to Meta Quest+. Details on pricing and availability in India have yet to be announced.

Despite its lower price, the Quest 3S retains many of the premium features of the Quest 3, including the powerful Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip and 8 GB of RAM. It offers a resolution of 1832 x 1920 pixels per eye, a 96-degree field of view, and supports Zenni MR Prescription Lenses, catering to users with specific vision needs. Running on Horizon OS, the headset is equipped for gaming, social media, and video streaming on major platforms like YouTube, Prime Video, and Netflix.

A notable feature is YouTube Co-watching, allowing two users to stream the same video simultaneously for a shared experience. Additionally, the Quest 3S has a 4,324 mAh battery, providing an average runtime of 2.5 hours on a single charge. Looking ahead, future updates will introduce features such as a travel mode similar to that of the Apple Vision Pro and enhanced Meta AI functionalities, allowing users to activate Meta AI with the phrase "Hey Meta."
