OpenAI has finally revealed ChatGPT search which is the company's answer to Google search, Bing and Perplexity. It was available only to select users and there was long waitlist to get access and this is the first time a large set of users are going to get access to the search feature.

Here are the top 5 features of ChatGPT's search capability:

1. Real-Time Information Access:

ChatGPT search can provide up-to-date information on current events, recent developments, and the latest industry trends. This helps bridge gaps in knowledge that might otherwise be outdated in the model’s pre-training data.

2. Enhanced Accuracy:

By accessing web sources directly, the search feature can improve response accuracy, especially for niche topics, local information, or data that frequently changes, like stock prices, weather, or sports scores.

3. Broader Contextual Awareness:

ChatGPT search can retrieve background information and additional context, especially beneficial for questions that require nuanced understanding or detailed, specific data.

4. Expanded Range of Topics:

This feature allows ChatGPT to respond confidently to queries that might otherwise be too specialized or obscure by leveraging a vast array of external resources.

5. Efficient Source Verification:

Search results often come from reputable sources, helping to ensure that the responses are reliable and grounded in credible, well-maintained information.

Search will be available on on chatgpt.com , as well as through our desktop and mobile apps. ChatGPT Plus, Team users, and SearchGPT waitlist members will be the first to get access. Enterprise and Edu users will get access in the coming weeks, and it will be available to all Free users in the next few months.
