While rejecting calls via text, user should have an option to use Chat or SMS as per the need.

At times, when we are unable to attend an incoming call, we reject it via text . Truecaller has an alternative option, Chat. Chat is a great way to communicate with other people for free.

However, I recently discovered that in many Android phones where Truecaller is not the default app, Chat doesn't sends notification like SMS. As a result, the intended person never gets a notification like SMS, which results in the person not getting notified at all. I think providing an option of using SMS or Chat while rejecting calls via text will be a great option.

Few days ago, I received some flak from my boss who was calling me from an Android phone while I was riding. I declined the call using the text option. However, Truecaller sent a Chat message instead of SMS, which was  delivered to my boss but he didn't see it because Chat didn't send notification like SMS.
Similar issue happened again when my dad called with an iPhone and I declined call using the text option.

 

As it is evident from above two situations which can happen with anyone, having an option for the end user to reject calls via SMS or Chat will be very beneficial and, even life saving in certain situations.

Hopefully in the next update, such a feature of rejecting calls via SMS or Chat is enabled for the end user

Hi,

 

1. In the Android-to-Android scenario you mentioned above, probably, the next person might not have enabled Truecaller notification. 

2. In the Android-to-iPhone scenario, as there is no Truecaller Chat message option from Android to iPhone; it will send as SMS by default. (I tried this again before sending this message to you)
