If you've recently installed Truecaller to handle and block unwanted calls, you may have noticed an increase in spam calls. But don't worry!! There are reasons why this might happen and ways to make the most out of Truecaller's popular feature:

• Increased Awareness: Truecaller is better at identifying and labeling spam calls than your phone's default Caller ID. This means you may now be more aware of spam calls that were previously ignored or went unnoticed.
• Reporting and Blocking: Truecaller blocks many spam calls, it also relies on user reports to update its spam database. You can contribute by reporting spam calls and leaving comments about them.
• Coincidence: The increase in spam calls may be coincidental and not directly related to Truecaller. The frequency of spam calls can change due to factors like seasonal trends, evolving spammer strategies, or your phone number becoming a new target.

 

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

• Regularly Update Truecaller: Always have the latest version of Truecaller for the best spam protection.
• Review Truecaller's Block Settings: Make sure you have activated Truecaller's spam-blocking feature. Additionally, consider enabling the maximum level of blocking to automatically block all calls identified as spam.
• Review Privacy Settings: Check and adjust the privacy settings in Truecaller to limit data sharing.
• Report Spam Calls: Make an effort to actively report spam numbers to Truecaller, which helps improve the overall database for the community.
