Hey Alfred 

 

My name is Tim and i work In one of the Product teams at Truecaller that focuses on fraud/scam prevention. There are several thing we are doing to mitigate scammers impersonating government officials such as Police officers:

 

1. Making sure we don't let people create scammy profiles on Truecaller. 

2. Based on different signals we collect we are able to flag numbers as fraudulent.  This means that you will see a red message saying "Warning:potential Fraud" on numbers we flagged as fraudulent. 

 

As a Truecaller user there is also a few things you can do to help out when encountering a number that is scammy:

1. Block the number

2. Leave a comment on the number describing what they are trying to do in order to warn others.

3. Suggest a better name.

 

Also if you a have specific examples of numbers that are impersonating police officers, send them over to me in a DM and i'll see what we can do with them.
